Pati. 19 March 20 First day of Spring!

As far as weather is concerned, the astronomical seasons mean nothing. As many of us know, in a lot of areas of the United States, although technically it's considered Springtime (March, April or May), there still can be winter weather. In Great Britain, however, spring is thought to include February, March and April.  In the Southern Hemisphere, the seasons are reversed. For example, Down Under (Australia) spring begins around September 23 and ends about December 21.

Up earlier today with a Gingerman cookie and Brigadoon tea. What is that you ask? Adagio Tea had it available to be purchased only on Leap Day. Only once every 4 years instead of 100. If you still don't understand, google "Brigadoon."

Same lunch, again. Put corned beef on the stove, yes, I'm a couple of day late.

We decided to go to Safeway and do some more shopping. Since we've retired we started going to the store every couple of days. Now we thought we should shop for 2 weeks as we used to. No paper goods but we didn't go until 1500. Rick still says he'll never use cloth wipes but we'll see.

A nice glass of wine, 2017 Prayers of the Sinner from Saints and Sinner in Washington state with the last slice of dark chocolate orange from Christmas.

I finished my book and will started The Wanted by Robert Crais tonight.

Vegetables cooking and corned beef resting in the oven.

Dinner over and almost bedtime. House still smells like corned beef!

We watched Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, NCIS: New Orleans, and Stumptown tonight.

See y'all tomorrow. Well, not really, social distancing, you know.

Today's Headlines:

Russia deploying coronavirus disinformation to sow panic in West, EU document says.

Prince Albert of Monaco, 63, tests positive for coronavirus.

Brazil's Christ the Redeemer statue lit with flags of countries affected by coronavirus.

Pati 18 March 20

Something different for today. Since I read (The Crown of Embers) until 0430 I didn't get up until after 11. Pomegranate green tea but no cookie today.

I read The Phantom Tollbooth but wasn't horribly impressed. I might be 60 years too old for it.

Read email, news, and Facebook until lunch of roast beef and cojack cheese again. No chips and salsa today though and tea to drink instead of grapefruit seltzer water.

Talked to sweet Cameron for about 1 minute to tell him our weather for homework.

We drove through Starbucks for a tall white mocha and went to Walmart. I mainly wanted to get a corned beef and some cabbage to cook (a day late). We also picked up some essentials like Black Box Pinot Noir and distilled water for my cpap. I'm not sure if that's more for me or him, lol!

No pasta, eggs, rice, Kleenex, toilet paper.....Only canned vegetables were black-eyed peas and boiled peanuts. We bought 2 cans of black beans but there weren't any other types. Olive and peanut oils were the only ones available.

It was too late when we got home to start the corned beef so we're having tilapia with caper-butter sauce. Before I started this Rick cooked coq au vin (stripped down version) on Monday. He is quite the cook now.

I ate some grapes and we took a walk, not my idea, of course.

Now I'm drinking red wine, eating dark chocolate, and going to play some games on my tablet.

Dinner was great, with oven roasted potatoes.

We watched DC Legends of Tomorrow, War of the Worlds, and the Rookie.

Time for drugs, 2 bites of ice cream, and reading until I turn out the light. See you tomorrow.

This is Pati. Here is my exciting day:

Husband went for walk

Had tea and cookie while playing games on tablet.

Had lunch and watched Flash.

Had grapes and orange.

Went for 23 minute (1 mile) walk with husband.

Had wine and dark chocolate. Started this blog.

This post will be updates as my day continues, exciting, huh?

We had pizza for dinner and then watched Station19, Grey's Anatomy, Dispatches from Elsewhere, and another episode from season 4 of Outlander (enjoyed with Auchentoshen whisky).

Throughout the day I was reading Phantom Tollbooth and will be finishing it before I go to sleep.

Good night, all!
